Most Awaited Comebacks This Season – Chennai Super Kings & Rajasthan Royals.

The suspension of the two beloved teams from the Indian Premier League in its 9th session was quite a shock and a moment of disappointment for many. Where one team Chennai Super Kings, led by one of the most loved captain in the history of the Indian cricket team, M.S. Dhoni, had won the prestigious title of the winner twice, as well runner-up finishers four times in the course; the other team on the other hand had won the first title of the IPL 2008, thus marking its name in the history of Indian Premier League.

To cut the long story short, allegations against the owners of these two teams for foul practices like betting and match fixing, compelled the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) to ban the owners of these two teams indefinitely and suspends the teams for two years to maintain the integrity of the cricket association.

Now, as the years have passed, the waiting of the fans of Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings has finally come to an end as they will be back on the pitch of IPL 2018.

After numerous speculations if Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who played for Rising Pune Supergiant in the previous two sessions will play for Chennai Super Kings again or not, the fans and audience has finally got their answers. Both the teams after using their total of three retentions individually made sure to get their biggest assets back to their teams.

Chennai Super Kings retained Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and M.S. Dhoni, their former captain back to his position, whereas used the RTM (Right to Match) card to retain Krunal Pandya & Kieron Pollard.

Rajasthan Royals, as a very obvious decision, retained Steven Smith and used their RTM card to get Anjinkya Narine back on the team. Interestingly, Rajasthan Royals snatched Narine from Punjab when they had outbid Mumbai Indians.

M.S. Dhoni even went ahead and made some revelations stating that prior to the auction, he was approached by many IPL franchisees but he chose to stay retained with Chennai Super Kings as there is where his loyalty lies. He even quoted – “And as I said, it is because of everything – what we been through, how we have conducted ourselves, how the management has been, how the players have been, how the fans have been. I always keep saying, you know, it is like a second home to me. The fans have over here have literally adopted me, they accept me as their own. There can’t be a bigger compliment than that. This is a special place and that thought of being with any other franchise was never a question. So that was a very easy answer for me.”

His genuine remark truly touched his fans and they want nothing more than to see him and his team come back with a bang this year.
